Mr. Hofstein is President of the domestic relations firm of Hofstein Weiner & Levit, P.C. In addition to being a frequent lecturer on family law and ethics, for over fifteen years Mr. Hofstein was an adjunct lecturer in law at the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, teaching courses on custody, equitable distribution and professional responsibility. He previously served on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee and is on the Task Force on Domestic Relations Law of the Pennsylvania Legislature's Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee. He was formerly Co-Chair of the Program Committee of the ABA's Family Law Section, and Co-Chair of the Section's Ethical Practices and Procedures Committee and of its Custody Committee. He received the Section’s Chair Award for 2007-2008. For the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, he is Co-Chair of the national Representation of Children Committee, currently serves as a Director and Assistant Treasurer of its Foundation , was the 2003 Co-Chair of the Academy's Continuing Legal Education Committee and was the former Chair of its Special Concerns of Children Committee. He is currently a Vice President of the Academy's Pennsylvania chapter.

He previously served as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Committee on Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility. He was a board member and is a frequent course planner and instructor for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He co-authored West's Pennsylvania Forms volume on Domestic Relations and has authored or co-authored numerous articles on family law in such publications as the Philadelphia Legal Intelligencer, The Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the ABA Family Law Section's Advocate, Fair Share, Pennsylvania Law Weekly, the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, the ABA Family Law Section's Family Law Quarterly and the Philadelphia Bar Association's Legal Intelligencer. He also is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and served as Co-Chair of the Association=s Chancellor's Commission on Children at Risk. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and received the 2009 First Judicial District (Philadelphia) Pro Bono Publico Award for his contribution to pro bono legal services, the Philadelphia Bar Association's 1994 Fidelity Award for outstanding contributions to public interest law and the 1994 IOLTA Leadership Award presented by the Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts Program. Mr. Hofstein received his B.A. from Haverford College, where he previously served as President of its Alumni Association. His J.D. was awarded by the New York University School of Law, where he was a Root Tilden Scholar. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976.
